BRAND MARKETING ASSOCIATE

Dr. Seuss: A Brand of Many Hats (Not the Cat's)


Dr. Seuss is a name that instantly sparks memories: The Grinch, Oh, the Places You’ll Go, silly rhymes, my first book… and yes, sometimes even controversy. Since the 1930s, beginning with And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street (1937), the brand has grown into a cultural touchstone with incredible breadth.

Penguin Random House continues to build on Dr. Seuss's legacy, promoting classic backlist favorites with new frontlist book launches each season. This includes new efforts like Seuss Studios, which invites up-and-coming creators to tell fresh stories using sketches by Dr. Seuss, and Seuss Babies, which reimagines classics (The Grinch and The Lorax) in board book and hardcover formats for the youngest readers.

My role requires me to wear many hats:

  • Partnering with the advertising team to secure vendors, placements, and media around book launches and cultural moments.

  • Planning end-to-end marketing campaigns, from budget to execution.

  • Driving marketing efforts across events, social media, paid ads, and in-store activations.

  • Collaborating directly with authors, illustrators, editors, sales, publicity, production, and design teams.
